FAQ

  • Do you take insurance?

No, I do not accept insurance. However, I can give you a Superbill (type of statement) to turn into insurance and sometimes they will reimburse you for a portion of our sessions. I recommend checking with your insurance provider first if this is an option. I aim to provide affordable counseling options by offering appointments with counseling interns in training. This is a great way to receive affordable counseling with an intern who is in the midst of learning the newest modalities and treatments and with me overseeing your care.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

All sessions must be cancelled, rescheduled, or modified at least 24 hours in advanced of your scheduled session time.

As a self-employed business owner, I must adhere to this policy and will charge the full session fee for no-shows or if you do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance.

Please be courteous and let me know if you are not able to make your session. This is most respectful of my time, and also allows me to book someone that may be waiting for an open appointment time or is on the wait list.

  • Where are you located?

I am located in the Greenview Medical Plaza building on the second floor. When you get in the building take the elevator to the second floor, go right and then left. My suite is at the end of the hall and says “Counseling Space LLC” on the sign outside. Come on in and have a seat in the waiting room. I will be out to greet you soon.

  • Do I need to bring anything to my appointments?

Nope! I will send you a link to the online paperwork before your session. All appointments are considered a soft booking until the signed paperwork is received. Some people like to bring a journal or something to write with. However, I am happy to provide you with a journal and pen. I also have plenty of coffee, tea, water and snacks to share.

  • Do you offer telehealth?

Yes! Since I am licensed in the state of Kansas, you must be sitting in the state of Kansas when we do our telehealth sessions. Prior to your appointment, I will provide you with a link to a secure, HIPAA compliant teletherapy platform for our session.

  • How often/long should I attend therapy?

Everyone’s journey with counseling is different. Once we have an initial consultation or first appointment, we can usually tell about how many sessions or how long treatment will take based on your goals. I am collaborative and like to be conscious of your time and budget, so we will discuss what time-frame works best for you and is realistic with your goals. It is a gold standard to plan on attending at least 6-12 sessions, but again this can vary depending on your goals and treatment plan.
